Creativity, by Doris Pierce
We are all creative. We create lives, jokes, relationships, cakes, careers, homes, communities, selves, and so much more. Life is one very big improvisation! Creativity is a life force, a spiritual act tapping deep into the uniqueness of each of us and the special gifts we offer this world. Some of us are blocked creatives, impeded by bad experiences or cultural stereotypes about creativity and creative people. Come explore the dynamics, skills, and attitudes of creativity. Gain insights into how to nurture your own creative spirit through a set of simple exercises. Creativity is central to human nature and joyful living. In fact, we are ourselves creations. Doris Pierce is a member of the UUFMC, is EKU’s Endowed Chair in Occupational Therapy, and teaches creative design skills for novice therapists. Contemporary music by the U-Band.
Community Sunday: This month, we pass our second plate for Habitat for Humanity and collect nonperishable goods for local food banks. Instead of our usual second Sunday potluck, we will be having a congregational potluck after the Annual Business Meeting on Sunday, May 20th. Don’t miss it!
