Soul Seekers

September 7, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The monthly Soul Seekers will be this Friday, Sept 7ths and 5:00pm. Is this a group? No, it is a time to reflect on life and take a destressor from politics or the world and to free your mind from the normal hubbub of the calendar. Do I have to bring anything? No. We do appreciate outside food and drinks, but it is not necessary. Do I have to sign up? Nope. Just show up. What if I have never been? It’s time for you to come. There is no routine from month to month.

This month we will read a poem by Edgar Allan Poe. It is in the UUFMC Calendar if you would like to read beforehand. Then we will discuss some topics, like star gazing and summer memories. There will be PIZZA this time! Please come and enjoy!!!!

‘Twas noontide of summer,
And mid-time of night;
And stars, in their orbits,
Shone pale, thro’ the light
Of the brighter, cold moon,
‘Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
Her beam on the waves.
I gazed awhile
On her cold smile;
Too cold- too cold for me-
There pass’d, as a shroud,
A fleecy cloud,
And I turned away to thee,
Proud Evening Star,
In thy glory afar,
And dearer thy beam shall be;
For joy to my heart
Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
And more I admire
Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.

by Edgar Allan Poe
